Laurel and I took a little drive earlier this week to check on things at the house. The real work hasn't begun yet -- that's tomorrow, yipee! -- but a lot of the tearing out is now done. Here is what it looks like now ...
Not sure that it's any better than when we left, but at least we have a better idea of how extensive the damage is. On the up side, we are going to get a new kitchen out of it and we are having fun planning and designing it!
Also, stopped by my garden while we were home. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with the lack of attention that it has received lately. But is has done surprisingly well and there was some harvesting to do! Even the broccoli that I thought would never grow surprised me with 3 decent sized bunches. Lots of green tomatoes that must speed up the ripening process before the cold weather hits, though -- more days like today would be great!
Planning a new kitchen, a great harvest ... things are looking up. We back at the cottage -- and internet-less -- soon, so no most posts for a bit.
