I have finally figured out how to get my kids to sleep in ... keep them up really late the night before! Hmmmm ... might not be the best long term solution. Well, they slept in today anyway and, after a rainy night, we awoke to a lovely sunny morning. After a bit of exploring and looking around (not a bad parking job considering the darkness and the late hour when we arrived!), it was time to hit the road again.
It wasn't long before we reached the Quebec border, where Isaac announced that he was born in Quebec and, now that he was back, he was never leaving! We were tempted to stop in St-Louis-du-Ha-Ha (because, come on, that's just fun to say), but carried on to Riviere-du-Loup for a picnic lunch and some playtime at a local playground. It was a warm, but windy day and there was a gentleman flying the most amazing dragon kite that the boys found fascinating.
After some more driving, some napping and some Vinyl Cafe stories, we arrived at our next stop just outside Quebec City.
The boys took off for the playground and when they returned for supper, Isaac announced that there seemed to be an awful lot of people around who spoke french! When I asked if they had learned any of it, they said "yes, merci!", and, added to "bonjour", which they already knew, pronounced themselves bilingual!
Another successful day and we went to bed excited to have a day off from driving tomorrow and looking forward to doing some exploring in Quebec City!
