Strolling around the Internet one day, I came across a blog post entitled "100 Things That Make Me Happy". What a great idea, I thought as I scanned the list, so Fridays are now dedicated to things that make me happy!

# 7 Cookies
So, we had chocolate (which the boys have taken to calling "hot chocolate cookies") and vanilla cookie dough which we started rolling separately. After a few cookies, Aidan wondered what they would look like mixed together, after all, the Valentine's cookies had had some of each in every cookie. I immediately started to say no, but bit my tongue ... what would be so horrible about it? -- sometimes my overly focused adult brain, gets in the way of having some big kid fun -- and I'm so glad that I did. The cookies look and taste great, what a smart kid!

I have a huge sweet tooth! My solution to any cooking dilemma is to add more sugar. Cookies are just about perfect in every way. They are sweet (really the list could stop here), they are portable, they are little so you can sneak a couple after telling the kids that it is too close to supper time for treats, and eating them doesn't dirty any dishes! What other food can boast so many great qualities?
We still had lots of cookie dough left over from our Valentine's cookies, so today when Aidan wanted something to do, we decided to make more cookies -- you can never have enough cookies! He had wanted me to play Lego with him, but I never seem to be able to play right. Whatever I build isn't quite right for some reason, or someone else desperately needs one of the pieces I've used, so I usually end up being the piece searcher and even then the boys brag about the piece that they found -- sigh! Anyway, when he changed his mind to making cookies (I didn't persuade him in any way, honest!), I excitedly agreed.

Peggy, That's my job around here as well, searching endlessly for lego, only to be told that it is infact the wrong piece I've discovered. Glad to know I'm not the only one. :) Your cookies look great!
